'Cheered' in the Bible
His heart was encouraged and he took great pride in the ways of the Lord; moreover, he again removed the high places [of pagan worship] and the Asherim from Judah.
They took the boy [Eutychus] home alive, and were greatly comforted and encouraged.
But God, who comforts and encourages the depressed and the disquieted, comforted us by the arrival of Titus.
And not only by his arrival, but also by [his account of] the encouragement which he received in regard to you. He told us about your longing [for us], your mourning [over sin], and how eagerly you took my part and supported me, so that I rejoiced even more.
But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I may also be encouraged by learning news about you.
[For my hope is] that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in [unselfish] love, so that they may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding [the joy of salvation], resulting in a true [and more intimate] knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ,
For I have had great joy and comfort and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints (God’s people) have been refreshed through you, my brother.
