'City' in the Bible

At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:

Beside the gates, at the opening to the city,At the entrance of the doors, she cries out:

She has sent out her maidens, she callsFrom the tops of the heights of the city:

She sits at the doorway of her house,On a seat by the high places of the city,

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices,And when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting.

By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,But by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down.

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,And he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.

A rich man’s wealth is his strong city,And like a high wall in his own imagination.

A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city,And contentions are like the bars of a citadel.
