'Consumed' in the Bible

I pursued my enemies and overtook them;And I did not turn back until they were consumed.

But the wicked (ungodly) will perish,And the enemies of the Lord will be like the glory of the pastures and like the fat of lambs [that is consumed in smoke],They vanish—like smoke they vanish away.

“Remove Your plague from me;I am wasting away because of the conflict and opposition of Your hand.

Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead);Death will be their shepherd;And the upright shall rule over them in the morning,And their form and beauty shall be for Sheol to consume,So that they have no dwelling [on earth].

I shall offer to You burnt offerings of fat lambs,With the [sweet] smoke of rams;I will offer bulls with male goats. Selah.

Let those who attack my life be ashamed and consumed;Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.

How they are destroyed in a moment!They are completely swept away by sudden terrors!

Therefore He consumed their days like a breath [in emptiness and futility]And their years in sudden terror.

For we have been consumed by Your angerAnd by Your wrath we have been terrified.

Let sinners be consumed from the earth,And let the wicked be no more.Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul.Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

They had almost destroyed me on earth,But as for me, I did not turn away from Your precepts.

My zeal has [completely] consumed me,Because my enemies have forgotten Your words.
