'Demon' in the Bible
In the synagogue was a man who had a demon. He screamed with a loud voice,
But Jesus rebuked him and said, “Be quiet and come out of him!”And throwing him down before them, the demon came out of him without hurting him at all.
For John the Baptist did not come eating bread or drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’
When He got out on land, a demon-possessed man from the town met Him. For a long time he had worn no clothes and did not stay in a house but in the tombs.
For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was guarded, bound by chains and shackles, he would snap the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.
Meanwhile, the eyewitnesses reported to them how the demon-possessed man was delivered.
As the boy was still approaching, the demon knocked him down and threw him into severe convulsions. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, cured the boy, and gave him back to his father.
Now He was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute, spoke, and the crowds were amazed.
And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had an illness caused by a spirit (demon). She was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.
