'Dew' in the Bible
Now may God give you of the dew of heaven,And of the fatness of the earth,And an abundance of grain and new wine;
Then Isaac his father answered and said to him,“Behold, away from the fertility of the earth shall be your dwelling,And away from the dew of heaven from above.
So it came about at evening that the quails came up and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp.
When the layer of dew evaporated, behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground.
When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall with it.
“Let my teaching drop as the rain,My speech distill as the dew,As the droplets on the fresh grassAnd as the showers on the herb.
Of Joseph he said,“Blessed of the Lord be his land,With the choice things of heaven, with the dew,And from the deep lying beneath,
“So Israel dwells in security,The fountain of Jacob secluded,In a land of grain and new wine;His heavens also drop down dew.
behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I will know that You will deliver Israel through me, as You have spoken.”
And it was so. When he arose early the next morning and squeezed the fleece, he drained the dew from the fleece, a bowl full of water.
Then Gideon said to God, “Do not let Your anger burn against me that I may speak once more; please let me make a test once more with the fleece, let it now be dry only on the fleece, and let there be dew on all the ground.”
God did so that night; for it was dry only on the fleece, and dew was on all the ground.
“O mountains of Gilboa,Let not dew or rain be on you, nor fields of offerings;For there the shield of the mighty was defiled,The shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.
So we shall come to him in one of the places where he can be found, and we will fall on him as the dew falls on the ground; and of him and of all the men who are with him, not even one will be left.
Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”
‘My root is spread out to the waters,And dew lies all night on my branch.
“Has the rain a father?Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power;In holy array, from the womb of the dawn,Your youth are to You as the dew.

By His knowledge the deeps were broken upAnd the skies drip with dew.
The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion,But his favor is like dew on the grass.
“I was asleep but my heart was awake.A voice! My beloved was knocking:‘Open to me, my sister, my darling,My dove, my perfect one!For my head is drenched with dew,My locks with the damp of the night.’

that you be driven away from mankind and your dwelling place be with the beasts of the field, and you be given grass to eat like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.
Immediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.
He was also driven away from mankind, and his heart was made like that of beasts, and his dwelling place was with the wild donkeys. He was given grass to eat like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until he recognized that the Most High God is ruler over the realm of mankind and that He sets over it whomever He wishes.
What shall I do with you, O Ephraim?What shall I do with you, O Judah?For your loyalty is like a morning cloudAnd like the dew which goes away early.
Therefore they will be like the morning cloudAnd like dew which soon disappears,Like chaff which is blown away from the threshing floorAnd like smoke from a chimney.
I will be like the dew to Israel;He will blossom like the lily,And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon.
Then the remnant of JacobWill be among many peoplesLike dew from the Lord,Like showers on vegetationWhich do not wait for manOr delay for the sons of men.
Therefore, because of you the sky has withheld its dew and the earth has withheld its produce.
‘For there will be peace for the seed: the vine will yield its fruit, the land will yield its produce and the heavens will give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.
