Then He touched their eyes, saying, “Let it be done for you according to your faith!”
And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly, “Be sure that no one finds out!”
For this people’s heart has grown callous;their ears are hard of hearing,and they have shut their eyes;otherwise they might see with their eyesand hear with their ears,understand with their heartsand turn back—and I would cure them.
“But your eyes are blessed because they do see, and your ears because they do hear!
And if your eye causes your downfall, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, rather than to have two eyes and be thrown into hellfire!
“Lord,” they said to Him, “open our eyes!”
Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they could see, and they followed Him.
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:The stone that the builders rejectedhas become the cornerstone.This came from the Lordand is wonderful in our eyes?
And He came again and found them sleeping, because they could not keep their eyes open.
