'Gold' in the Bible

Behold, I am going to stir up the Medes against them,Who will not value silver or take pleasure in gold.

And you will defile your graven images overlaid with silver, and your molten images plated with gold. You will scatter them as an impure thing, and say to them, “Be gone!”

For in that day every man will cast away his silver idols and his gold idols, which your sinful hands have made for you as a sin.

And you, O desolate one, what will you do?Although you dress in scarlet,Although you decorate yourself with ornaments of gold,Although you enlarge your eyes with paint,In vain you make yourself beautiful.Your lovers despise you;They seek your life.

“They decorate it with silver and with gold;They fasten it with nails and with hammersSo that it will not totter.

Beaten silver is brought from Tarshish,And gold from Uphaz,The work of a craftsman and of the hands of a goldsmith;Violet and purple are their clothing;They are all the work of skilled men.
