'Guard' in the Bible
Come to terms quickly [at the earliest opportunity] with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way [to court], so that your opponent does not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you are thrown into prison.
Beware of men [whose nature is to act in opposition to God], for they will hand you over to the courts and flog you in their synagogues;
Jesus said to them, “Watch out and be on your guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Pilate said to them, “You have a guard [of soldiers]; go [with them], make the tomb as secure as you know how.”
So they went and made the tomb secure, and along with [stationing] a guard of soldiers [to be on watch] they set a seal on the stone.
The guards shook, paralyzed with fear [at the sight] of him and became like dead men [pale and immobile].
