'Harp' in the Bible
Afterward you will come to the hill of God where the Philistine garrison is; and it shall be as soon as you have come there to the city, that you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and a lyre before them, and they will be prophesying.
Let our lord now command your servants who are before you. Let them seek a man who is a skillful player on the harp; and it shall come about when the evil spirit from God is on you, that he shall play the harp with his hand, and you will be well.”
So it came about whenever the evil spirit from God came to Saul, David would take the harp and play it with his hand; and Saul would be refreshed and be well, and the evil spirit would depart from him.
Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he raved in the midst of the house, while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul’s hand.
Now there was an evil spirit from the Lord on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing the harp with his hand.
Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the Lord.
“They sing to the timbrel and harpAnd rejoice at the sound of the flute.
“Therefore my harp is turned to mourning,And my flute to the sound of those who weep.
Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.
I will incline my ear to a proverb;I will express my riddle on the harp.

Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine;But they do not pay attention to the deeds of the Lord,Nor do they consider the work of His hands.
Therefore my heart intones like a harp for MoabAnd my inward feelings for Kir-hareseth.
Take your harp, walk about the city,O forgotten harlot;Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs,That you may be remembered.
The gaiety of tambourines ceases,The noise of revelers stops,The gaiety of the harp ceases.
Who improvise to the sound of the harp,And like David have composed songs for themselves,
Yet even lifeless things, either flute or harp, in producing a sound, if they do not produce a distinction in the tones, how will it be known what is played on the flute or on the harp?
