'Hills' in the Bible
Now it will come about thatIn the last daysThe mountain of the house of the LordWill be established as the chief of the mountains,And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it.
Against all the lofty mountains,Against all the hills that are lifted up,
As for all the hills which used to be cultivated with the hoe, you will not go there for fear of briars and thorns; but they will become a place for pasturing oxen and for sheep to trample.
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,And marked off the heavens by the span,And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure,And weighed the mountains in a balanceAnd the hills in a pair of scales?
“Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges; You will thresh the mountains and pulverize them,And will make the hills like chaff.
“I will lay waste the mountains and hillsAnd wither all their vegetation;I will make the rivers into coastlandsAnd dry up the ponds.
“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you,And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,”Says the Lord who has compassion on you.
“For you will go out with joyAnd be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you,And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Both their own iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together,” says the Lord.“Because they have burned incense on the mountainsAnd scorned Me on the hills,Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.”
