The pride of man will be humbledAnd the loftiness of men will be abased;And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,

Men will go into caves of the rocksAnd into holes of the groundBefore the terror of the LordAnd the splendor of His majesty,When He arises to make the earth tremble.

In that day men will cast away to the moles and the batsTheir idols of silver and their idols of gold,Which they made for themselves to worship,

Your men will fall by the swordAnd your mighty ones in battle.

“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah,Judge between Me and My vineyard.

Therefore the Lord does not take pleasure in their young men,Nor does He have pity on their orphans or their widows;For every one of them is godless and an evildoer,And every mouth is speaking foolishness.In spite of all this, His anger does not turn awayAnd His hand is still stretched out.

And the Lord will utterly destroyThe tongue of the Sea of Egypt;And He will wave His hand over the RiverWith His scorching wind;And He will strike it into seven streamsAnd make men walk over dry-shod.

And their bows will mow down the young men,They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb,Nor will their eye pity children.

Heshbon and Elealeh also cry out,Their voice is heard all the way to Jahaz;Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud;His soul trembles within him.

The princes of Zoan are mere fools;The advice of Pharaoh’s wisest advisers has become stupid.How can you men say to Pharaoh,“I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings”?

Well then, where are your wise men?Please let them tell you,And let them understand what the Lord of hostsHas purposed against Egypt.

and the remainder of the number of bowmen, the mighty men of the sons of Kedar, will be few; for the Lord God of Israel has spoken.”

Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame.

Causing the omens of boasters to fail,Making fools out of diviners,Causing wise men to draw backAnd turning their knowledge into foolishness,

That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sunThat there is no one besides Me.I am the Lord, and there is no other,

Thus says the Lord,“The products of Egypt and the merchandise of CushAnd the Sabeans, men of stature,Will come over to you and will be yours;They will walk behind you, they will come over in chainsAnd will bow down to you;They will make supplication to you:‘Surely, God is with you, and there is none else,No other God.’”

“They will say of Me, ‘Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength.’Men will come to Him,And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.

Just as many were astonished at you, My people,So His appearance was marred more than any manAnd His form more than the sons of men.

We grope along the wall like blind men,We grope like those who have no eyes;We stumble at midday as in the twilight,Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men.

“Your gates will be open continually;They will not be closed day or night,So that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations,With their kings led in procession.

“Then they will go forth and lookOn the corpses of the menWho have transgressed against Me.For their worm will not dieAnd their fire will not be quenched;And they will be an abhorrence to all mankind.”
