'Minds' in the Bible
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road to the land of the Philistines, even though it was nearby; for God said, “The people will change their minds and return to Egypt if they face war.”
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about the people and said: “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”
You have closed their minds to understanding, therefore You will not honor them.
Those with twisted minds are detestable to the Lord, but those with blameless conduct are His delight.
Dull the minds of these people;deafen their ears and blind their eyes;otherwise they might see with their eyesand hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.
Such people do not comprehendand cannot understand, for He has shut their eyes so they cannot see,and their minds so they cannot understand.
But the Lord said to me, “These prophets are prophesying a lie in My name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, worthless divination, the deceit of their own minds.
This is what the Lord of Hosts says: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are making you worthless. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the Lord’s mouth.
How long will this continue in the minds of the prophets prophesying lies, prophets of the deceit of their own minds?
They will drink, stagger, and go out of their minds because of the sword I am sending among them.”
Afterward, however, they changed their minds and took back their male and female slaves they had freed and forced them to become slaves again.
But you have changed your minds and profaned My name. Each has taken back his male and female slaves who had been freed to go wherever they wanted, and you have again subjugated them to be your slaves.
