'Mocking' in the Bible
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne Abraham, mocking.
And it happened [that] the runners were passing from city to city in the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and up to Zebulun, but they were laughing at them and mocking them.
But they were mocking the messengers of God and despising his words and scoffing at his prophets until the wrath of Yahweh rose against his people until there was no remedy.
"But now I am their mocking song, and I have become a byword for them.
You have persuaded me, Yahweh, and I was persuaded. You have overpowered me, and you have prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all day [long]. {Everyone} [is] mocking me.
I have become a laughingstock for all the people, their mocking song all day long.
Look at their sitting and their standing, I [am] their mocking song.
