'Prophesy' in the Bible
On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’
Then some began to spit on Him, to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, saying, “Prophesy!” The temple police also took Him and slapped Him.
After blindfolding Him, they kept asking, “Prophesy! Who hit You?”
And it will be in the last days, says God,that I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity;then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.
I will even pour out My Spiriton My male and female slaves in those days, and they will prophesy.
And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began to speak in other languages and to prophesy.
Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, and above all that you may prophesy.
For you can all prophesy one by one, so that everyone may learn and everyone may be encouraged.
Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in other languages.
And I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”
I will empower my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.”
