'Read' in the Bible
He said to them, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry --
Or have you not read in the law that the priests in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are not guilty?
He answered, "Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female,
and said to him, "Do you hear what they are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouths of children and nursing infants you have prepared praise for yourself'?"
Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
Now as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God,
Above his head they put the charge against him, which read: "This is Jesus, the king of the Jews."

The inscription of the charge against him read, "The king of the Jews."
Now Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, as was his custom. He stood up to read,
Then he began to tell them, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read."
Jesus answered them, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry --
Pilate also had a notice written and fastened to the cross, which read: "Jesus the Nazarene, the king of the Jews."
Thus many of the Jewish residents of Jerusalem read this notice, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the notice was written in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek.
For the people who live in Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him, and they fulfilled the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath by condemning him.
For Moses has had those who proclaim him in every town from ancient times, because he is read aloud in the synagogues every Sabbath."
When they read it aloud, the people rejoiced at its encouragement.
When the governor had read the letter, he asked what province he was from. When he learned that he was from Cilicia,
For we do not write you anything other than what you can read and also understand. But I hope that you will understand completely
