'Seek' in the Bible
And Jesus, turning around and seeing them following [him], said to them, "What do you seek?" And they said to him, "Rabbi" (which means [when] translated "Teacher"), "where are you staying?"
And at this [point] his disciples came, and they were astonished that he was speaking with a woman. However, no one said, "What do you seek?" or "Why are you speaking with her?"
I am able to do nothing from myself. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my [own] will, but the will of the one who sent me.
How are you able to believe, [if you] accept glory from one another, and do not seek the glory [which is] from the only God?
Jesus replied to them and said, "Truly, truly I say to you, you seek me not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were satisfied!
Has not Moses given you the law, and none of you carries out the law? Why do you seek to kill me?"
You will seek me and will not find [me], and where I am, you cannot come."
What is this saying that he said, 'You will seek me and will not find [me], and where I am, you cannot come'?"
So he said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek me and will die in your sin. Where I am going you cannot come!"
But I do not seek my [own] glory. There is one who seeks and judges!
Children, yet a little [time] I am with you. You will seek me and just as I said to the Jews, "Where I am going you cannot come," now I say also to you.
