'Speak' in the Bible
So he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. But he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
"Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.
People were completely astounded and said, "He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."
Peter began to speak to him, "Look, we have left everything to follow you!"
Then he began to speak to them in parables: "A man planted a vineyard. He put a fence around it, dug a pit for its winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went on a journey.
When they arrest you and hand you over for trial, do not worry about what to speak. But say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
