'Speak' in the Bible

Then Abraham said, "May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak! What if thirty are found there?" He replied, "I will not do it if I find thirty there."

Abraham said, "Since I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty are found there?" He replied, "I will not destroy it for the sake of the twenty."

Finally Abraham said, "May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak just once more. What if ten are found there?" He replied, "I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten."

Then Shechem's father Hamor went to speak with Jacob about Dinah.

Even though she continued to speak to Joseph day after day, he did not respond to her invitation to have sex with her.

Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "It is not within my power, but God will speak concerning the welfare of Pharaoh."

He will speak for you to the people, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were his God.

From the time I went to speak to Pharaoh in your name, he has caused trouble for this people, and you have certainly not rescued them!"

But Moses replied to the Lord, "If the Israelites did not listen to me, then how will Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with difficulty?"

But Moses said before the Lord, "Since I speak with difficulty, why should Pharaoh listen to me?"

You are to speak everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh that he must release the Israelites from his land.

The Lord said to Moses, "I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and so that they will always believe in you." And Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.

Now when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the atonement lid that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim. Thus he spoke to him.

"Speak to Aaron and tell him, 'When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps are to give light in front of the lampstand.'"
