'Spreading' in the Bible
If, however, the scab is spreading further on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his purification, then he must show himself to the priest a second time.
The priest shall look, and if the scab has spread on the skin, then he shall pronounce him unclean; it is leprosy.
If it is spreading further on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce him unclean. It is an infection.
The priest must then examine it on the seventh day, and if it is spreading further on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce him unclean. It is a diseased infection.
And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.
"When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your possession,
then the priest shall come and look again, and if the mark has spread in the house, it is a malignant leprosy in the house; it is [ceremonially] unclean.
You must not go about spreading slander among your people; you must not jeopardize your neighbor’s life; I am Yahweh.
