'Sun' in the Bible
For the stars of heaven and their constellationsWill not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it risesAnd the moon will not shed its light.
Then the moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed,For the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,And His glory will be before His elders.
The light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, on the day the Lord binds up the fracture of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted.
Behold, I will cause the shadow on the stairway, which has gone down with the sun on the stairway of Ahaz, to go back ten steps.” So the sun’s shadow went back ten steps on the stairway on which it had gone down.
“I have aroused one from the north, and he has come; From the rising of the sun he will call on My name; And he will come upon rulers as upon mortar,Even as the potter treads clay.”
That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sunThat there is no one besides Me.I am the Lord, and there is no other,
“They will not hunger or thirst,Nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down; For He who has compassion on them will lead themAnd will guide them to springs of water.
So they will fear the name of the Lord from the westAnd His glory from the rising of the sun,For He will come like a rushing streamWhich the wind of the Lord drives.
“No longer will you have the sun for light by day,Nor for brightness will the moon give you light; But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,And your God for your glory.
“Your sun will no longer set,Nor will your moon wane; For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,And the days of your mourning will be over.
