'Talk' in the Bible
You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.
Now Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And he said to them, “You know very well the man and his talk.”
“Should he argue with useless talk,Or with words which are not profitable?
“How long will you hunt for words?Show understanding and then we can talk.
They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;They talk of laying snares secretly;They say, “Who can see them?”
Those who sit in the gate talk about me,And I am the song of the drunkards.
Even though princes sit and talk against me,Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdomAnd talk of Your power;
When you walk about, they will guide you;When you sleep, they will watch over you;And when you awake, they will talk to you.
In all labor there is profit,But mere talk leads only to poverty.
For their minds devise violence,And their lips talk of trouble.
“But as for you, son of man, your fellow citizens who talk about you by the walls and in the doorways of the houses, speak to one another, each to his brother, saying, ‘Come now and hear what the message is which comes forth from the Lord.’
therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “For good reason they have made you desolate and crushed you from every side, that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations and you have been taken up in the talk and the whispering of the people.”’”
For how can such a servant of my lord talk with such as my lord? As for me, there remains just now no strength in me, nor has any breath been left in me.”
