'Testing' in the Bible

So the people complained to Moses, “Give us water to drink.”“Why are you complaining to me?” Moses replied to them. “Why are you testing the Lord?”

do not listen to that prophet’s words or to that dreamer. For the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul.

Lord of Hosts, testing the righteousand seeing the heart and mind,let me see Your vengeance on them,for I have presented my case to You.
