'Wither' in the Bible
When the disciples saw it, they were amazed and said, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”
and the sun having risen, it was scorched, and because of not having root it did wither;
'And other fell upon the rock, and having sprung up, it did wither, through not having moisture.
Now every athlete who [goes into training and] competes in the games is disciplined and exercises self-control in all things. They do it to win a crown that withers, but we [do it to receive] an imperishable [crown that cannot wither].
For the sun rises with its scorching heat and dries up the grass; its flower falls off, and its beautiful appearance is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will wither away while pursuing his activities.
because all flesh is as grass, and all glory of man as flower of grass; wither did the grass, and the flower of it fell away,
for in an hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that saileth any wither, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood afar off,
