'Envy' in the Bible
For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.
Why do ye look with envy, ye many-peaked mountains, upon the mount that God hath desired for his abode? yea, Jehovah will dwell there for ever.
Envy not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.
A sound heart is the life of the flesh; but envy the rottenness of the bones.
Let not thy heart envy sinners, but be thou in the fear of Jehovah all the day;
Their love also, and their hatred, and their envy is already perished; neither have they any more for ever a portion in all that is done under the sun.
And the envy of Ephraim shall depart, and the troublers of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not trouble Ephraim:
therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will even do according to thine anger and according to thine envy, as thou hast done out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge thee.
