'Hasten' in the Bible
That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
Then the Lord said to me, “Take for yourself a large tablet [for public display] and write on it in ordinary characters: Belonging to Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
Therefore I say, “Look away from me;Let me weep bitterly.Do not try to comfort me over the destruction of the daughter of my people.”
Therefore the Lord God says this,“Listen carefully, I am laying in Zion a Stone, a tested Stone,A precious Cornerstone for the [secure] foundation, firmly placed.He who believes [who trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone] will not be disturbed or give way [in sudden panic].
The mind of the hasty will discern the truth,And the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak clearly.
Your children hasten; your destroyers and those who laid you waste depart from you.
Their feet run to evil,And they hasten to shed innocent blood;Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity,Devastation and destruction are in their highways.
