'Heads' in the Bible

Lift up your heads, O gates,And be lifted up, ancient doors,That the King of glory may come in.

You make us a byword among the nations,A laughingstock among the people.

So they will be caused to stumble;Their own tongue is against them;All who gaze at them will shake the head [in scorn].

You made men (charioteers) ride over our heads [in defeat];We went through fire and through water,Yet You brought us out into a [broad] place of abundance [to be refreshed].

Surely God will shatter the head of His enemies,The hairy scalp of one who goes on in his guilty ways.

You divided the [Red] Sea by Your strength;You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.

You crushed the heads of Leviathan (Egypt);You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

For behold, Your enemies are in tumult,And those who hate You have raised their heads [in hatred of You].

I also have become a reproach and an object of taunting to others;When they see me, they shake their heads [in derision].

He will execute judgment [in overwhelming punishment] among the nations;He will fill them with corpses,He will crush the chief men over a broad country.
