'Hope' in the Bible
Is not your piety your confidence, and your blameless ways your hope?
My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle and they come to an end without hope.
Such is the destiny of all who forget God; the hope of the godless perishes,
And you will be secure, because there is hope; you will be protected and will take your rest in safety.
But the eyes of the wicked fail, and escape eludes them; their one hope is to breathe their last."
Even if he slays me, I will hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face!
"But there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.
as water wears away stones, and torrents wash away the soil, so you destroy man's hope.
If I hope for the grave to be my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness,
He tears me down on every side until I perish; he uproots my hope like one uproots a tree.
For what hope does the godless have when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
