'Hope' in the Bible
Isn’t your piety your confidence, and the integrity of your life your hope?
If only my request would be grantedand God would provide what I hope for:
What strength do I have that I should continue to hope? What is my future, that I should be patient?
Since I cannot help myself, the hope for success has been banished from me.
The caravans of Tema look for these streams. The traveling merchants of Sheba hope for them.
My days pass more swiftly than a weaver’s shuttle;they come to an end without hope.
Such is the destiny of all who forget God;the hope of the godless will perish.
You will be confident, because there is hope. You will look carefully about and lie down in safety.
But the sight of the wicked will fail.Their way of escape will be cut off,and their only hope is their last breath.
Even if He kills me, I will hope in Him.I will still defend my ways before Him.
There is hope for a tree:If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its shoots will not die.
as water wears away stonesand torrents wash away the soil from the land,so You destroy a man’s hope.
He tears me down on every side so that I am ruined. He uproots my hope like a tree.
For what hope does the godless man have when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
Any hope of capturing him proves false.Does a person not collapse at the very sight of him?
