'Horn' in the Bible
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me;My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.
“I said to the arrogant, ‘Do not boast;’And to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up the horn [of self-glorification].
‘Do not lift up your [defiant and aggressive] horn on high,Do not speak with a stiff neck.’”
For You are the glory of their strength [their proud adornment],And by Your favor our horn is exalted.
“My faithfulness and My steadfast lovingkindness shall be with him,And in My name shall his horn be exalted [great power and prosperity shall be conferred upon him].
But my horn [my emblem of strength and power] You have exalted like that of a wild ox;I am anointed with fresh oil [for Your service].
With trumpets and the sound of the hornShout with joy before the King, the Lord.
He has given freely to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.
“There I will make the horn (strength) of David grow;I have prepared a lamp for My anointed [fulfilling the promises].
He has lifted up a horn for His people [giving them strength, prosperity, dignity, and preeminence],Praise for all His godly ones; For the people of Israel, a people near to Him.Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
