'Household servants' in the Bible
One day, though, he went into the house to do his work. None of the household servants were inside,
and yelled for her household servants. "Look!" she cried out. "My husband brought in a Hebrew man to humiliate us. He came in here to have sex with me, but I screamed out loud!
Afterwards, his brothers and his father's household servants came down, took him, brought him back, and buried him in his father Manoah's tomb between Zorah and Eshtaol. He had governed Israel for 20 years.
Who then is that faithful and wise servant, whom his master has made ruler over his household servants, to give them their food in due time?
The Lord said: “Who then is the faithful and sensible manager his master will put in charge of his household servants to give them their allotted food at the proper time?
"No one can be a household servants to two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to the one and despise the other. You cannot be the slave of God and of Mammon."
And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household-servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
Household servants, submitting to the masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wayward.
