'Led' in the Bible
These things I [vividly] remember as I pour out my soul;How I used to go along before the great crowd of people and lead them in procession to the house of God [like a choirmaster before his singers, timing the steps to the music and the chant of the song],With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a great crowd keeping a festival.
You have ascended on high, You have led away captive Your captives;You have received gifts among men,Even from the rebellious also, that the Lord God may dwell there.
You led Your people like a flockBy the hand of Moses and Aaron [to the promised goal].
In the daytime He led them with a cloudAnd all the night with a light of fire.
But God led His own people forward like sheepAnd guided them in the wilderness like [a good shepherd with] a flock.
He led them safely, so that they did not fear;But the sea engulfed their enemies.
He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up;And He led them through the depths as through a pasture.
He led them by the straight way,To an inhabited city [where they could establish their homes].
To Him who led His people through the wilderness,For His lovingkindness endures forever;
For there they who took us captive demanded of us a song with words,And our tormentors [who made a mockery of us demanded] amusement, saying,“Sing us one of the songs of Zion.”
