'Money' in the Bible
Some soldiers also questioned him: “What should we do?”He said to them, “Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation; be satisfied with your wages.”
“Take nothing for the road,” He told them, “no walking stick, no traveling bag, no bread, no money; and don’t take an extra shirt.
And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of the unrighteous money so that when it fails, they may welcome you into eternal dwellings.
So if you have not been faithful with the unrighteous money, who will trust you with what is genuine?
No household slave can be the slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t be slaves to both God and money.”
The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at Him.
“At his return, having received the authority to be king, he summoned those slaves he had given the money to, so he could find out how much they had made in business.
why didn’t you put my money in the bank? And when I returned, I would have collected it with interest!’
