'Raise' in the Bible

Like lions his enemies roar victoriously over him; they raise their voices in triumph. They have laid his land waste; his cities have been burned down and deserted.

Raise a standard in the direction of Zion. Flee! Don't stand around! For I'm bringing calamity from the north, along with great destruction.

Warn the nations: Look!Proclaim to Jerusalem:Those who besiege are comingfrom a distant land;they raise their voicesagainst the cities of Judah.

“Run for cover, Benjaminites,out of Jerusalem!Sound the ram’s horn in Tekoa;raise a smoke signal over Beth-haccherem,for disaster threatens from the north,even great destruction.

For this is what the Lord of Hosts says:Cut down the trees;raise a siege ramp against Jerusalem.This city must be punished.There is nothing but oppression within her.

Cut off the hair of your sacred vow and throw it away. Raise up a dirge on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned the generation under His wrath.

I will raise weeping and a lamentover the mountains,a dirge over the wilderness grazing land,for they have been so scorchedthat no one passes through.The sound of cattle is no longer heard.From the birds of the sky to the animals,everything has fled—they have gone away.

Let them come quickly to raise a lament over usso that our eyes may overflow with tears,our eyelids soaked with weeping.

Jehovah of hosts hath sworn by himself, I will assuredly fill thee with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall raise a shout against thee.

Raise a signal flag in the land;blow a ram’s horn among the nations;set apart the nations against her.Summon kingdoms against her—Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz.Appoint a marshal against her;bring up horses like a swarm of locusts.
