'Sad' in the Bible
He asked Pharaoh’s officials who were with him in confinement in his master’s house, “Why are your faces so sad today?”
When the people heard this sad word, they went into mourning, and none of them put on his ornaments.
Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep and why do you not eat and why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”
She said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

A joyful heart makes a cheerful face,But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.
Sorrow is better than laughter,For when a face is sad a heart may be happy.
But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.
And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad.
