'Save' in the Bible
so that someone who committed manslaughter could flee there, [that is, a person] who killed his neighbor unintentionally and without previously having hostility toward him, and that by escaping to one of these cities he might [claim the right of asylum and] save his life:
for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’
Only in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes.
When he found her in the [open] field, the engaged girl [may have] cried out for help, but there was no one to [hear and] save her.
and you will be groping at noon [in broad daylight], just as the blind grope in the darkness, and nothing you do will prosper; but you will only be oppressed and exploited and robbed continually, with no one to save you.
