'Silent' in the Bible
So I join with Jazerto weep for the vines of Sibmah;I drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears.Triumphant shouts have fallen silentover your summer fruit and your harvest.
But they kept silent; they didn’t say anything, for the king’s command was, “Don’t answer him.”
“Be silent before Me, islands!And let peoples renew their strength.Let them approach, then let them testify;let us come together for the trial.
“I have kept silent from ages past;I have been quiet and restrained Myself.But now, I will groan like a woman in labor,gasping breathlessly.
He was oppressed and afflicted,yet He did not open His mouth.Like a lamb led to the slaughterand like a sheep silent before her shearers,He did not open His mouth.
Who was it you dreaded and feared,so that you lied and didn’t remember Meor take it to heart?Have I not kept silent for such a long timeand you do not fear Me?
I will not keep silent because of Zion,and I will not keep still because of Jerusalem,until her righteousness shines like a bright lightand her salvation, like a flaming torch.
Jerusalem,I have appointed watchmen on your walls;they will never be silent, day or night.There is no rest for you,who remind the Lord.
Lord, after all this, will You restrain Yourself?Will You keep silent and afflict severely?
It is written before Me:I will not keep silent, but I will repay;I will repay them fully
