'Stands' in the Bible

The Lord rises to argue the caseand stands to judge the people.

When it was reported to the house of David, saying "Aram stands by Ephraim," his heart and the heart of his people shook like the shaking of the trees of [the] forest because of [the] wind.

It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.

“Howl, O gate; cry, O city!Melt away, O Philistia, all of you;For smoke comes out of the north,And there is no straggler in his ranks and no one stands detached [in Hezekiah’s battalions].

He will not have regard for the altars, the work of his hands,Nor will he look to that which his fingers have made,Even the Asherim and incense stands.

For the Lord's power will make this mountain secure. Moab will be trampled down where it stands, as a heap of straw is trampled down in a manure pile.

For the fortified city stands desolate, a settlement abandoned and forsaken like the desert; calves graze there, and there they lie down and strip bare its branches.

But a noble person plans noble things;he stands up for noble causes.

The grass withers, the flower fades,But the word of our God stands forever.

They lift it to their shoulder and bear it along;they set it in its place, and there it stands;it does not budge from its place.They cry out to it but it doesn’t answer;it saves no one from his trouble.

Justice is turned back,and righteousness stands far off.For truth has stumbled in the public square,and honesty cannot enter.

Watch out! It stands written before me: "I won't keep silent, but I will pay back in full; I'll indeed repay into their laps
