'Waters' in the Bible

Therefore, this is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “I am about to feed this people wormwood and give them poisonous water to drink.

When He thunders,the waters in the heavens are in turmoil,and He causes the clouds to risefrom the ends of the earth.He makes lightning for the rainand brings the wind from His storehouses.

Who is this, rising like the Nile,like rivers whose waters churn?

Egypt rises like the Nile,and its waters churn like rivers.He boasts, “I will go up, I will cover the earth;I will destroy cities with their residents.”

This is what the Lord says:Look, waters are rising from the northand becoming an overflowing wadi.They will overflow the land and everything in it,the cities and their inhabitants.The people will cry out,and every inhabitant of the land will wail.
