In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel.

He will also lift up a standard to the distant nation,And will whistle for it from the ends of the earth;And behold, it will come with speed swiftly.

“Be broken, O peoples, and be shattered;And give ear, all remote places of the earth.Gird yourselves, yet be shattered;Gird yourselves, yet be shattered.

But with righteousness He will judge the poor,And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth;And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

They will be left together for mountain birds of prey,And for the beasts of the earth;And the birds of prey will spend the summer feeding on them,And all the beasts of the earth will spend harvest time on them.

In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth,

Who has planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns,Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth?

The Lord of hosts has planned it, to defile the pride of all beauty,To despise all the honored of the earth.

It will come about at the end of seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre. Then she will go back to her harlot’s wages and will play the harlot with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,And marked off the heavens by the span,And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure,And weighed the mountains in a balanceAnd the hills in a pair of scales?

Do you not know? Have you not heard?Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?

It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,Who stretches out the heavens like a curtainAnd spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

He it is who reduces rulers to nothing,Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.

The coastlands have seen and are afraid;The ends of the earth tremble;They have drawn near and have come.

You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,And called from its remotest partsAnd said to you, ‘You are My servant,I have chosen you and not rejected you.

Sing to the Lord a new song,Sing His praise from the end of the earth!You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it.You islands, and those who dwell on them.

“I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’Bring My sons from afarAnd My daughters from the ends of the earth,

Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans!Declare with the sound of joyful shouting, proclaim this,Send it out to the end of the earth;Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob.”

That you have forgotten the Lord your Maker,Who stretched out the heavensAnd laid the foundations of the earth,That you fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor,As he makes ready to destroy?But where is the fury of the oppressor?

Then you will take delight in the Lord,And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth,Say to the daughter of Zion, “Lo, your salvation comes;Behold His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.”
