"As for thy mother, she is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waterside: her fruits and branches are grown out of many waters,

And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

And you, son of man, groan {with shaking hips}, and you must groan with bitterness before their eyes.

And when they say to you, ‘Why do you groan?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news that is coming; and every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it comes and it will happen,’ declares the Lord God.”

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

And the voice of a multitude living carelessly was with her; and with people of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, and they put bracelets upon their hands, and a beautiful crown upon their heads.

The grain offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering, they themselves may eat them, and [also] all [the] consecrated possessions in Israel will be theirs.

The first portion of all the first fruits of every kind and every offering of any kind is to be for the priests. You are to give the priest the first portion of your grain. As a result a blessing will rest on your household.

But no dead carrion shall the priest eat, nor such as is devoured of wild beasts, fouls or cattle."

And one sheep from the flock from [among] two hundred from the pastures of Israel [will be taken] as grain offering and as burnt offering [and] [as] fellowship offering to make atonement for them," {declares} the Lord Yahweh.

"But on the prince shall be [the responsibility for] the burnt offerings, and the grain offering, and the libation at the feasts, and at the New Moon festivals, and at the Sabbaths at all of the assemblies of the house of Israel; he shall provide the sin offering, and the grain offering, and the burnt offering, and the fellowship offering to make atonement for the house of Israel.

And [as a] grain offering, an ephah for the bull and an ephah for the ram he must provide, and a hin of olive oil for {each} ephah.

In the seventh [month], on the {fifteenth} day of the month, during the feast, he shall provide just as [he has for] these seven days, as [he did for] the sin offering, [as he did for] the burnt offering, and [as he did] for the grain offering, and [as he did] for the olive oil.'"

And [the] grain offering [he will give] [shall be] an ephah {for each ram}, and for the male lambs [the] grain offering [shall be] {as much as he wants to give} and a hin of olive oil {for each ephah}.

And an ephah for each bull and an ephah for the ram he must provide [as] a grain offering, and [also] for the male lambs {as much as he can afford} and a hin [of] olive oil for each ephah.

And at the festivals and at the appointed times, the grain offering will be an ephah with a bull and an ephah with the ram and with the male lambs, {as much as he wants to give}, and a hin of olive oil {for each ephah}.

And grain offering he must provide in addition to it {every morning}, a sixth of an ephah and a third of a hin of olive oil to moisten the finely milled flour [as] a grain offering to Yahweh {as a perpetual statute}.

[So] they must provide the male lamb and the grain offering and the olive oil {every morning} {as a regular burnt offering}."

And he said to me, "This [is] the place where the priests will boil the guilt offering and the sin offering, [and] where they shall bake the grain offering [in order] not to bring [them] out to the outer courtyard to make the people holy.

And by the edge of the river, on this side and on that, will come up every tree used for food, whose leaves will ever be green and its fruit will not come to an end: it will have new fruit every month, because its waters come out from the holy place: the fruit will be for food and the leaf will make well those who are ill.

Put your servants to the test for ten days; let them give us grain for our food and water for our drink.

And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

The grain-floor and the place where the grapes are crushed will not give them food; there will be no new wine for them.

Dress in sackcloth and lament, you priests;

are withheld from the house of your God.

The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.

How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.

Like the sound of war-carriages they go jumping on the tops of the mountains; like the noise of a flame of fire burning up the grain-stems, like a strong people lined up for the fight.

At their presence the peoples are in anguish. All faces have grown pale.

Who knows? He may turn and relent
and leave a blessing behind Him,

Up! and let the grain be crushed, O daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron and your feet brass, and a number of peoples will be broken by you, and you will give up their increase to the Lord and their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

And the remnant of Jacob was in the midst of many peoples as the dew from Jehovah, as showers upon the green herb, which will not wait for man and will not delay for the sons of man.


“Are there not still treasures gained by wickedness
In the house of the wicked,
And a short (inaccurate) measure [for grain] that is cursed?

You will put in seed, but you will not get in the grain; you will be crushing olives, but your bodies will not be rubbed with the oil; and you will get in the grapes, but you will have no wine.

The queen herself shall be led away captive, and her gentlewomen shall mourn as the doves, and groan within their hearts.

She is empty, void, and waste. The heart melts, the knees knock together, their bodies and faces have grown pale.

For the fig trees shall not be green, and the vines shall bear no fruit. The labour of the olive shall be but lost, and the land shall bring no corn: the sheep shall be taken out of the fold, and there shall be no cattle in the stalls.

I asked, "What is it?" And he replied, "It is a basket for measuring grain that is moving away from here." Moreover, he said, "This is their 'eye' throughout all the earth."

and thou hast taken silver and gold, and hast made a crown, and hast placed on the head of Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest,

And the crown is to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of Jehovah.

And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.

"Ask the LORD for rain in the spring the LORD who fashions lightning thunderstorms, giving rain showers to mankind along with grain in the fields.
