Now when John heard in the prison the works of the Messiah, he sent [a message] by his disciples

Then his disciples came, and took the body, and buried it; and they went and told Jesus.

And John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, "Why do the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?"

They said to him, "The disciples of John often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink."

The disciples of John told him about all these things.

Now a dispute arose between John's disciples with a Jew about purification.


He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.

Crowds also came together from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people, and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were all healed.

Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed." Immediately he arose.

said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet." He leaped up and walked.

She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And it came out at once.

so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and the evil spirits went out.

It happened that the father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Paul entered in to him, prayed, and laying his hands on him, healed him.




And immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:

On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me."



When they had come in, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;

And he appointed the Twelve. And to Simon he gave the name Peter;

And he said to them, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"


And he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are dying?"

These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they did not believe them.

While they still did not believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" They gave him a piece of a broiled fish. He took it and ate in front of them. read more.
He said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
