As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet.

For while they are folded together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

Woe to them that rise early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflameth them! Be not among wine-bibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunken, are drunken in the night.

The lips of the wise diffuse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like him.

Accuse not a servant to his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
