let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,

for the words which you have given me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew for sure that I came forth from you, and they have believed that you sent me.
Now faith is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see.
and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, "My son, do not take lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose heart when you are reproved by him;
We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end,
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;
So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
The LORD is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The LORD is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I have asked of the LORD, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to see the LORD's beauty, and to inquire in his temple. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah.

and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.

He said to him, "If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.
Zechariah said to the angel, "How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years."
that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth."
Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.
For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, "You will be saved in returning and rest. Your strength will be in quietness and in confidence." You refused,
The work of righteousness will be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
