"And that which fell among the thorns, these are those who heard; and, going forth, they are choked with anxieties, and riches, and pleasures of life, and bear no fruit to perfection. "And that in the good ground, these are such as, in a good and honest heart, having heard the word, hold it fast, and bear fruit with patience.

Luke 10:38-42

Now, as they were going on their way, He entered into a certain village; and a certain woman, Martha by name, received Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who, also seated at the Lord's feet, was hearing His word. But Martha was being distracted about much serving; and, coming up suddenly, she said, "Lord, carest Thou not that my sister left me to serve alone? Luke 11:33-36

"No one, having lighted a lamp, puts it in a cellar, or under a measure, but on a lamp-stand, that those who enter may see the light. The lamp of your body is your eye. When your eye is sound, your whole body also is full of light; but, when it is evil, your body also is dark. Take heed, therefore, lest the light in you be darkness.read more.

Sell what ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses that grow not old, a treasure unfailing in Heaven, where no thief approaches, nor moth corrupts; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
