Then said Jesus to His disciples, "If any one wishes to come after Me, let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me;

And, calling the multitude to Him with His disciples, He said to them, "If any one wishes to come after Me, let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

And whosoever does not take up his cross, and follow Me, is not worthy of Me.

And a scribe, coming near, said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow Thee wheresoever Thou mayst go." And Jesus saith to him, "The foxes have dens; and the birds of the heaven have lodging-places; but the Son of Man hath not where to lay His head."

And whosoever does not bear his own cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.

For no one of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me."

And, as He was going forth into the way, one, running to Him, and kneeling, was asking Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do, that I may inherit eternal life?" But what things were gain to me, these I accounted loss for Christ. Nay, more, I even account all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I suffered the loss of all things, and account them refuse, that I may gain Christ.

And another said, "I will follow Thee, Lord; but first permit me to bid adieu to those within my house." And Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to a plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."

"He that loves father or mother more than Me, is not worthy of Me; and he that loves son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me.

"If any one comes to Me, and hates not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and, further, his own soul also, he cannot be My disciple.

Remember the word which I spake to you, 'A servant is not greater than his lord.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the Kingdom of God.

Yea, and all who wish to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

And whosoever does not take up his cross, and follow Me, is not worthy of Me. "He that finds his life shall lose it; and he that loses his life for My sake shall find it.

Then said Jesus to His disciples, "If any one wishes to come after Me, let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me; for whosoever wishes to save his soul shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose his soul for My sake shall find it;

He who loves his soul loses it; and he who hates his soul in this world will keep it unto life eternal.
