For we needed just such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;
Jesus said to them. "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.

Yet for this very cause I obtained mercy, so that in me, the chief of sinners, Jesus Christ might display all his boundless patience as an illustration for those who should later believe in him, and so gain life eternal.
Now just before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour was come when he should leave this world to go to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, showed forth his love to the end.
