That we may be no longer children, fluctuating to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of men, by cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive:

And consulted, how they might apprehend Jesus by subtlety and kill him.

But he observing their craftiness, said to them, Why tempt ye me?

And they send to him certain of the Pharisees, and of the Herodians, to catch him his talk.

Then went the Pharisees and consulted, how to insnare him in his talk. Let none deceive himself: if any one among you thinketh himself to be wise, let him become a fool in this world, that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; as it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

Therefore having this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not: But have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully corrupting the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
