For from within, out of the heart of man proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, envy, evil speaking, pride, foolishness.
Let no man when he is tempted say, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own desire and inticed.
Wo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish; but within they are full of rapine and intemperance.
Now ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the dish; but your inward part is full of rapine and wickedness.
Wo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like whited sepulchres, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of dead men's bones and of all uncleanness. So ye likewise outwardly appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness in the desires of their hearts, to dishonour their bodies among themselves;
We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I approve not; for what I would, I do not, but what I hate, that I do. If then I do what I would not, I consent to the law, that it is good.read more.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good, I find not. For the good that I would, I do not; but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now, if I do that which I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and captivating me to the law of sin, which is in my members.
For the love of money is the root of all evils; which some coveting, have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: it is the tongue among the members which defileth the whole body and setteth on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire of hell.
From whence come wars and fightings among you? Is it not hence, from your pleasures that war in your members?
Therefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, even so death passed upon all men, in that all had sinned.
For death is the wages of sin; but eternal life is the gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creation was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by him who subjected it, In hope that the creation itself shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption, into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
And I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, Go, pour out the seven phials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
