Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. And this is the message which we have heard of him and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.

Even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and your will is, to do the desires of your father. My beloved children, I write these things to you, that ye may not sin. But if any one sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous, And he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. He that faith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.

That they all may be condemned, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
