(Proverbs 1:15) Destruction and misery are in their ways. (Isaiah 59:7) They have not known the way of peace. (Isaiah 59:7, 8) There is no respect (reverence) for God before their eyes. (Psalm 36:1) We know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those under the law. Every mouth may be stopped and the entire world may become liable to God for punishment.

The forefathers belong to them from whom came the Christ according to the flesh. God who is over all is blessed forever. Amen.

Yet they did not listen or incline their ears. They stiffened their necks in order not to listen or take correction.

They have eyes full of adultery that cannot cease from sin! They entice unsteady persons. Their hearts are full of covetousness. They are children of cursing.

This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world. People loved the darkness rather than the light for their works were evil.

To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure. Both their mind and their conscience are defiled. They profess that they know God; but deny him by their works! They are detestable, disobedient, and not approved for any good work.
